It happens, more often than I’d like to admit. All sorts of things can set them off, a harsh comment I read or careless comment from someone not intending to be hurtful. It’s not like you were even in a bad mood. Then BOOM, you’re in a funk and you can’t write, even if you can. By that I mean you could be writing the best lines of your life but they all read like crap to you because your self esteem has fallen out of the bottom.
The worst thing about a funk is you never really know how long it’s going to last. I’ve got some emergency back up plans for funks but none of them is full proof. One of them is to write my way out of the funk, which is what I’m trying to do here. I may or my not publish this post but I probably will. Everybody gets in a funk so I guess it’s nice to share.
I know it will pass. They always do and usually fairly quickly.

I’m in a funk too. I hope yours passes soon. I love your stories.

Thanks Bonnie! I’m back to normal today. All my whining helped get it out of my system. Hope yours passes!

Donna, I’m so sorry and am sending all the good “Karma” 🙂 your way.
I put all authors so high on a pedestal because I know I’m not strong enough to put up with what you do. Your strength of character and stamina amaze me. I know you’ll come out stronger.

Thank you Debbie! You might be giving me too much credit. Sometimes I’m not sure it’s so much stamina as duck and cover, lol.

Hi I started reading your karma series and once I got to the end of the second book I had to read more by you! I them read the alchemy book set and loved it. You are a great writer and I’m excited to see what’s next.
From some random fan 🙂

I just finished Jinxed in one day and was sad to see I’d have to wait until March to read more of the Karma series! Don’t let the bad comments stop the flow! I’ve read all your books and personally love the Karma series the best.
I wish I could write like you, Jinxed had me tearing up a few times…that hasn’t happened in a while since a try and only read light topics! To me, that says something about your writing. Good job.

Hi Donna,
Just wanted to say THANK YOU! For a while there, I had stopped reading and then by shear luck, I have downloaded Karma and could not stop reading. Now after finishing the two books available in the Karma series (and while waiting for the next installment), I am already well and truly finishing the third book in The Keepers series. Wow…they do get dark, but how much more fun it is to read? 🙂
So…. please don’t stop writing!

Thanks, Janna! Yeah, I do have a tendency to get dark, lol. I’m glad you’ve been enjoying them!!!! Don’t worry, not stopping!
