There’s certain things I’ve discovered along the way that I find helpful in my writing process. I thought maybe one or two might of them might help others.
1. Vellum
This is an ebook formatting program. It used to take me hours and hours to format. Now I can load a book file and it will generate the format for all the different stores. Only thing it doesn’t format is the paperback but I hear that might be coming soon.
2. Scrivenor
This is what I use to write instead of Word. It’s great for people like me who write out of order.
3. Tea
This one sounds useless probably but there is actually a little psychology to it. I read somewhere (have no idea where anymore) that if you build up certain routines around the times you sit down to be creative, it helps trigger your brain that it’s time to get in that zone. I find that it works.
4. Writing in Spurts
I very rarely sit down and write for long periods of time. When I write, it goes more like this: write for fifteen, get up and pace, write again, make a call, write, take a shower, write… When I try and force long stretches without breaks, I don’t write as well.
5. Writing Out of Order
This one doesn’t work for a lot of people but definitely helped me. I never write a scene I’m not in the mood to do. I don’t care where it fall in the book timeline, I write the scene I’m feeling at that moment.
Good luck to everyone and may the words be with you!!!

I do the out of order thing. It makes me crazy but it is how the mind works.
